Adult Dance & Drumming

African Diaspora Dance and drumming classes for adults at AkomaAsa Arts. Sessions are designed to build knowledge, skills and confidence. 

Drumming classes will introduce participants to hand and stick drumming techniques.  

Dance and movement sessions will work to build physical confidence, rhythmic sensibility, and competence in movement vocabulary from Africa and its diasporas. Participants will develop awareness of stylistic features of the technique whilst using their body in creative and expressive ways to create dances. Classes will challenge individual strength, flexibility, stamina and coordination.
